    The accelerated increase in charging stations means it is easier than ever to keep your car going when on the move. The speed of charge depends largely on the power of the unit. A 50kW unit can charge up to 80% in as little as 30 minutes. Fast charging points (7-22kW) can fully recharge some models in 3-4 hours.

      Currently there are over 150,000 charging points in the EU and this should increase to 2 million within 5 years. While some public charging points provide ‘open access’, meaning use is free, the majority belong to network providers so you may need a card or mobile app.

    Easy to install at home, the Lexus Wallbox will fully charge your car in just over 8 hours. Using Lexus Link you’ll discover clever features like a maximum charge setting that enables owners living at the top of a hill to make use of regenerative charging after leaving home.

LIFETIME SECURITY

The battery powering your Lexus will generally last for the life of the vehicle. Investigations show that many electric cars have around 75% of their battery capacity after 120,000 miles (193,000 km). Others show an even better longevity with 5% loss after 80,000 km and another 5% after 241,000 km. With the average electric car driver only covering about 15,000 km per year, most will never need a new battery.

For a long and trouble-free service life, our batteries feature advanced cooling and heating systems, while durable rubber seals protect them from all forms of water and dust. Lexus is also offering a 10-year (or 1 million km) EV Battery Extended Care scheme on all functional defects of the main battery pack and capacity degradation below 70%, provided that you respect the regular health checks.

Importantly for the planet, when the UX 300e battery reaches the end of its life span, we have a take-back scheme to ensure it is recycled safely and responsibly. Currently we are retrieving more than 90% of our batteries in Europe through our retailer networks, but our aim is to achieve a 100% take-back rate through all our operations.
