Built at our award-winning Kyushu plant, the CT 200h redefines build quality for this kind of luxury compact. Beautifully finished front seats provide excellent lateral support when cornering and enduring relaxation on longer journeys. Everything you touch communicates the car’s quality, from the leather-covered steering wheel to the soft touch leather that juxtaposes with finely crafted metal details. The CT’s impressive quietness is partly achieved through extensive sound insulation, much of which is bio-sourced. For comfort, Electronic Climate Control offers precise temperature regulation, and cabin air is filtered to remove pollen and dust.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

Equipped with Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control and Brake Assist, the CT 200h is engineered to avoid danger. Optional Pre-Crash Safety uses millimetre-wave radar to identify danger ahead and can even apply the brakes if necessary. However, in the unlikely event of a collision, you are protected by an incredibly strong passenger safety cell that makes extensive use of high-tensile steel. Enhancing safety even further, the CT 200h features Whiplash Injury Lessening front seats and eight airbags as standard.

DASHBOARD AND CONSOLE

The front centre console is ergonomically designed to let the driver intuitively operate the gear lever and Drive Mode Select, while the audio and climate systems can be controlled from both front seats.

SPORTS STEERING WHEEL

An LFA-inspired, 3-spoke leather steering wheel with ergonomic finger rests makes the CT very precise to drive. Without taking your hands off the wheel, you can control audio, telephone, voice command, multi-information display and, where optionally specified, Adaptive Cruise Control.

DYNAMIC INSTRUMENTATION

Crisp, white instrumentation has anti-glare Optitron technology for easy reading, and the background lighting switches from blue to red when you select SPORT mode. The multi-information display can be upgraded to a 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor colour version. In addition to vehicle data, this displays multimedia content. For instance, audio track titles, navigation directions, or when your smartphone is connected, the name, photograph and phone number of the person calling you.

LEXUS HYBRID DRIVE

In 2004, Lexus became the first premium carmaker to perfect Full Hybrid technology. Since then, over 500,000 Lexus hybrid models have been sold. Our latest CT 200h delivers astonishingly smooth performance and low CO₂ emissions from just 97 g/km. It achieves this by orchestrating a combination of super-efficient 1.8-litre petrol engine, high-output electric motor, compact battery, seamless hybrid transmission and a power control unit.

START UP, DRIVING OFF

When starting off, the electric motor can propel the CT 200h up to 45 km/h, with electric power being supplied from the hybrid battery. At this point the vehicle is almost silent, uses no petrol and produces zero emissions.

FULL THROTTLE ACCELERATION

Accelerate powerfully and the electric motor instantaneously supplements the 1.8-litre petrol engine. This delivers a surge of torque to provide powerful linear acceleration precisely when you need it.

NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS

At speeds above 45 km/h the advanced petrol engine cuts in, almost silently, but still receives assistance from the electric motor when required. Through the near perfect distribution of its dual power sources, the CT 200h provides exceptional driving comfort – together with lower emissions and fuel consumption.

DECELERATION, STOPPING, BRAKING

When decelerating or coming to a halt, the petrol engine turns off, cutting emissions to zero. Brake, or take your foot off the accelerator, and regenerative braking harnesses the kinetic energy lost n other cars. It converts this into electrical energy for storage in the hybrid battery, which is one reason why you never need to recharge a Lexus Hybrid Drive.

OCCUPANT AND PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION

For added safety, the CT 200h has a very strong passenger cell. The car’s main pillars are specially reinforced and high tensile steel has been used strategically throughout. Crumple zones front and rear absorb energy in a crash, as does the steering column, which is engineered to collapse on impact.

EIGHT AIRBAGS

The CT 200h is equipped with eight airbags and front seatbelt pre-tensioners. In a collision, impact intensity sensors activate front dual-stage driver/passenger airbags and side airbags accordingly. Front seat passengers also benefit from knee airbags, while curtain shield airbags run the full length of the side windows.

TWIN-CHAMBER PASSENGER AIRBAG

Crash tests show that the front seat passenger travels further than the driver before hitting the front airbag. In order to safely ‘catch’ the passenger in a collision, an innovative twin-chamber airbag is fitted.

WHIPLASH INJURY LESSENING SEATS

The front seat and headrest design minimise whiplash inducing neck motion in a rear impact. Reinforced side frames let the torso sink into the seatback, while the forward placement of the headrest supports the head more effectively.

PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION

The CT 200h bonnet is optimised to ensure better energy absorption in a collision with a pedestrian. In addition, the windscreen wiper area is designed to help reduce pedestrian injuries in an accident.

REMOTE TOUCH

Our award-winning Remote Touch technology revolutionises the way you interact with many of the car’s advanced systems. Naturally and conveniently positioned between the two front seats, on the centre console, it works like a computer mouse, allowing you to operate the features displayed on the full-colour multi-display screen. This means that eye movement and unnecessary distraction is kept to a minimum, allowing you to focus on the road ahead.

You can control the car’s entertainment system, manage the climate control and even operate the advanced satellite navigation via Remote Touch. You have full control of the cursor, avoiding the need to click through options, and the haptic technology inside gently draws the cursor towards the icons as you navigate the screen making it even easier. This sensory reaction force can even be customised to suit your specific preferences. Simple, intuitive and very easy to operate.

The CT 200h’s seven-inch full-colour multi-display screen is positioned centrally on the dashboard, close to the driver’s field of vision – combined with the intuitive positioning of the Remote Touch ‘mouse’, this minimises driver distraction when operating the CT 200h’s state-of-the-art systems.

DYNAMIC CONTROL

TRACTION CONTROL

Traction Control increases the CT 200h’s ability to grip the road, especially when starting off or accelerating on uneven or slippery surfaces. Corrective measures are applied the moment the risk of wheel-spin is detected, thereby maintaining traction.

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL

Vehicle Stability Control helps prevent the loss of vehicle control, particularly when cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid. Stability is improved and vehicle speed reduced by the selective application of brakes and, or, power reduction.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE-FORCE DISTRIBUTION / BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM

Electronic Brake-force Distribution works with ABS to ensure optimum brake-force is applied to each wheel, according to road conditions. The Brake Assist System comes into action during emergency braking and increases brake-force automatically if required.

HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL

Hill-start Assist Control maintains brake pressure to help prevent the CT 200h from moving backwards when starting off on a slope. In addition to reducing driver fatigue, Hill-start Assist Control also minimises wheel-spin on slippery inclines.

PRE-CRASH SAFETY

Pre-Crash Safety uses millimetre-wave radar and an on-board computer to calculate collision risk ahead. If the risk is high it alerts the driver using audible and visual warnings and increases brake pressure. If impact is unavoidable Pre-Crash Safety applies the brakes and tightens the front seatbelts.

DRIVE MODE SELECT

The CT 200h offers four different modes of driving; four distinct driving experiences that can be selected according to conditions or, indeed, your mood – from serenely relaxed to dynamic and sporty. In EV (Electric Vehicle) mode, the CT is powered by the electric motor alone, producing no CO₂ or NOx, uses no petrol and is almost completely silent. If you choose Eco mode the engine output and gear selection are adjusted, and the air conditioning and heated seats are intelligently controlled to optimise fuel efficiency. Normal mode is great for everyday driving.

Choose Sport mode and the car re-tunes the throttle for more direct acceleration and adjusts the car’s various steering, traction and stability control systems for a more lively drive. The instrument panel also changes from a calming blue to a sporty red and the ecometer changes to a tachometer to display engine revs.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Using the Pre-Crash Safety radar, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) maintains a set distance between the CT 200h and the vehicle ahead, even if that vehicle varies its speed. Once the road is clear, ACC automatically returns to the originally specified cruising speed.

INTERIOR COMFORT

The CT 200h features a spacious interior, rich in the refinement and amazing quality for which Lexus is legendary. The driving position is sporty and focused, with the front seats providing great comfort and lateral support.

In the CT 200h, quality is everywhere: exquisitely finished leather, beautifully grained wood inserts from sustainable plantations, flawless paintwork that shines brighter and longer than on any other compact (we spray it with the same self-repairing paint as used on our LS flagship sedan). Production is performed by highly skilled teams, overseen by 'Takumi' master craftspeople, who check that every CT meets our award-winning standards. On completion, cars are examined for smoothness and quiet running before undergoing a 30 km final test drive.

CHASSIS / AERODYNAMICS

The CT 200h was tested and refined in the world’s most advanced driving simulator – and then on the racetrack. On the latest model, breakthrough adhesive bonding techniques have increased the rigidity of the chassis. This, combined with the extensive use of lightweight materials, has produced a car that offers a great sense of enjoyment and rewards driver input with extremely precise handling.

The CT 200h has excellent aerodynamics, thanks to its low bonnet, long roofline and rear spoiler/diffuser/winglets. A look underneath this breakthrough compact reveals more, with aerodynamic engine/fuel tank covers and surfboard-like fins that provide better stability. This attention to detail not only enhances dynamic performance and handling, but also improves fuel efficiency and reduces wind noise.

LUGGAGE SPACE

With all five seats occupied, the luggage capacity is 375 litres, which is enough to accommodate two big suitcases or two buggies. Folding down the rear seats more than doubles the space and creates a virtually flat storage area (capacity: 985 litres when loaded to the roof) ideal for transporting bulkier items like racing bikes. We developed the main ingredient in the cargo lining material – Bio-PET – from sugar cane; it is this inventive approach to eco-friendly materials that has helped ensure that the CT is 85% recyclable at the end of its life.

You are able to add accessories such as cargo nets, a luggage mat, dog guard and boot liners should you choose and the CT 200h can also incorporate a bicycle holder, a roof rack, a roof box and a luxury ski holder. See accessories for more details.

DOUBLE WISHBONE REAR SUSPENSION

The double wishbone/trailing arm rear suspension, developed especially for the CT 200h, delivers a smooth ride, refined cornering agility and superb straight-line stability. More complex to manufacture than strut-based alternatives, its compact design encroaches less into the rear luggage space. Performance dampers are also available front and rear. These absorb fine vibrations, increase ride comfort and create a more precise steering feel.

UPHOLSTERY & INLAY CHOICE

You can customise the finely crafted interior of the CT 200h to your individual taste. Modern and durable fabric is available in 5 colours, 3 of which have been refreshed for the CT. Fabric is standard on Eco and Comfort grades and is complemented by Storm Black inlay.

For F SPORT, exclusive Fabric/Tahara trim - 3 colours – and Silver metal film inlay are specified as standard. Or upgrade to F SPORT leather, choosing between Galaxy Black and our Dark Rose colourway, with the option to also specify a set of carbon-fibre inlays.

Elegant leather upholstery is specified as standard on Executive grade, with Techno Black inlay providing a refined finishing touch. Leather is available in a choice of three classic colours and can also be ordered as part of an upgrade pack on the Comfort grade.

If you prefer beautifully grained wood inlays, you can choose between traditional ash burl, hand crafted shimamoku or natural tropical bamboo. All of our wood is sourced from sustainable plantations.

MULTIMEDIA & CONNECTED SERVICES

LEXUS PREMIUM NAVIGATION

The new CT 200h is available with the latest Lexus Premium Navigation featuring an elegant 7-inch screen operated by Remote Touch or voice commands. With vivid 3D graphics and many mapping options, once parked, the system can even generate a QR code to scan with your smartphone. This helps you reach your final destination on foot. The multimedia system also offers services such as Online Search, Google Street View® , Panoramio® or even reads out incoming text messages. For extra convenience, you can also forward a route from a mobile device to the CT 200h’s navigation system.

LEXUS NAVIGATION

The CT 200h can be specified with Lexus Navigation. This then works via the centrally positioned Lexus Media Display. It is fast, user-friendly and offers a great variety of mapping options.

LEXUS MEDIA DISPLAY

The CT 200h can be ordered with Lexus Media Display, which features a 7-inch screen operated by a rotary dial. You can adjust audio, climate settings or view the energy monitor via this display. Compatible smartphones can be ‘mirror linked’, so you can view and control certain elements of your phone.

PARKING ASSIST MONITOR

Engage reverse and the view behind the car is relayed to the Lexus Media Display. With the upgraded Lexus Premium Navigation specified, onscreen guides are additionally displayed to assist parking.
