The innovative Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system, featuring world-first radar technology, can help assist you in emergency situations and help reduce injury and collision damage where impact is unavoidable.
A millimetre-wave radar can detect certain obstacles ahead of the IS and determine the risk of impact. If a high-risk is calculated, PCS engages Pre-Crash Brake Assist to help improve the driver’s ability to avoid impact by providing increased brake pressure during braking.
If a collision is deemed unavoidable, PCS engages additional safety systems to help reduce impact force and help reduce the risk of injury. Pre-Crash Brake can automatically apply the brakes prior to impact, whilst Pre-Crash Seatbelt technology can automatically tighten the front seatbelts.
Please note: Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) is available in combination with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) as a cost option on the IS 250 F-Sport model.
