Lexus RX Hybrid 2WD - First full size crossover with "Band B" emissions

From January 2010 the new Lexus RX hybrid will also offer a 2 wheel drive model which will further reduce its already class leading low emissions.
The new 2 WD model starts at €55,500 and emits just 140g CO2/km which places it in Tax Band B meaning it will cost just €156 a year for road tax.
This new model has the world’s lowest CO2 emissions (140g/km), for a full size crossover. Now qualifying for tax Band B, the new RX hybrid 2 WD is at least 3 tax bands lower than any similar size vehicle available on the market today.

Lexus Become Highest Ranked Brand for 8th Successive Year

Lexus is delighted to announce that it has secured the highest ranked brand in the J.D. Power and Associates/What Car? 2008 UK Customer Satisfaction Index StudySM.

The J.D. Power and Associates 2008 UK Customer Satisfaction Index StudySM was produced from more than 16,000 responses from owners of cars registered between September 2005 and August 2006, representing 28 brands and 100 individual models.

Each of the motorists involved in the survey filled out a detailed questionaire that explored every aspect of their ownership experience. Eight areas were put under the microscope: mechanical problems, interior problems, exterior problems, vehicle performance, vehicle interior, vehicle exterior, the quality of service from dealers, and ownership costs.

In each of these areas, owners rated their cars, which gave an overall Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The overall result was then drawn from these eight areas, weighted in favour of quality & reliabilty, vehicle appeal, dealer advise and, finally, the cost of ownership.

The result gives Lexus an unbroken record of eight consecutive years as the highest ranking brand – one for every year it has been eligible for consideration. It is an achievement unmatched by any other manufacturer and is a reflection of the successful investment Lexus continues to make in delivering products and services of the highest quality.

Lexus Ready Their Performance Challenger….IS-F Final

Lexus Ireland are delighted to announce the arrival of the new IS F, due in dealerships in April 2008, the new IS F is the first production model to wear the new performance “F“ marque.

The new IS F is based on the robust IS sport saloon platform and will deliver 423 bhp from a specially engineered 5.0-liter V8 engine and will accelerate from 0 – 100km/h in 4.8 seconds. By combining this with the world’s fastest 8-speed Direct Sport Shift (DSS) transmission that shifts gear in just 0.1 of a second it is the fastest gear change bar Formula 1 car.

The “F” marque from Lexus highlights the birthplace of the IS F, the Fuji Speedway at the Higashi Fuji Technical Centre located at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Founded in 1963, the Fuji speedway is now the highlight of the Formula 1 calendar.

The IS F began with the enthusisasm of two engineers, Yaguchi-san and Sakamoto-san. Their personal enthusiasm for high performance had already led them to experiment with an older model IS300. The result of their work paid dividend when they were given the go ahead for what had already become known internally as the ‘F’ project.

Above all the IS F is a Lexus. That means every aspect has superior quality and integrity designed and engineered in. It is a unique performance car, but it is also a true drivers’ car. The IS F is expected to be under €110,000 and will be available in Lexus dealerships from April. To date, Lexus Ireland have confirmed 10 vehicle orders for 2008.

Commenting ahead of the arrival of the IS F, Aiden Nolan, Assistant Technical Service Manager in Lexus Ireland said:

“After driving the new IS F on the private Monte Blanco circuit in Southern Spain recently I believe this car has everything a committed driver could wish for; superb handling, exceptional engine and transmission response, along with an exhilerating sound from the V8 and a feeling of unlimited acceleration. The 5-litre V8 2UR-GSE engine is one of the most sophisticated in the world and combined with the world’s fastest 8-speed Direct Sport Shift it delivers unprecedented shift speed for a production vehicle”
